According to The Washington Post, the teenage suspect in Wednesday’s mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia has been publicly named and charged with murder.
The suspect has been identified as 14-year-old Colt Gray. He faces four counts of felony murder and is expected to be tried as an adult.
Gray’s first court appearance is scheduled for Friday morning at 8:30am ET.
Two students and two teachers were killed in the shooting, while nine others were wounded.
Authorities stated Gray’s father, Colin Gray, 54 was charged Thursday with “four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children.” Investigators discovered Colin gave his son the weapon as a gift.
“The actions of both Colin Gray and his son tore apart the Apalachee High School community,” Nick Suplina, a spokesman for the group, said in a statement Thursday evening.
