Friends Mourn The Unexpected Death Of Beloved Event Planner Jocko Fajardo

Joaquin “Jocko” Fajardo, DC resident skilled chef, event planner, florist, and founder of JockoMade.com , unexpectedly passed away Friday, July 14th in his DuPont Circle home.

Joaquin “Jocko” Fajardo, DC resident , event planner, florist, founder of JockoMade.com,  and skilled chef unexpectedly passed away Friday, July 14th in his DuPont Circle home.

Jocko was a DMV resident for over 20 years. His creativity lead him to be featured in some of Washington’s most distinguished residential addresses. He was considered to be “Tailored Chic” in his design skills.

Friends and colleagues remember to take to Facebook and the Washington Blade. David Perruzza, the owner of The Adams Morgan LQBTQ bars Pitchers and League Of Her Own shared via Facebook, “Jocko Fajardo was the guy you called if the queen was coming over for dinner and you wanted it to be perfection.”

“His creativity, charm, and friendship will be missed by so many. He left us much too soon,”  DC Activist Peter Rosenstein said. “Jocko was a D.C. treasure.”

The editor Kevin Naff of Washington Blade mentioned, “Jocko touched so many in the LGBTQ community in D.C. through his extensive volunteer work,” He continued, “When we were looking for help planning the Blade’s 50th celebration, Jocko stepped up and was involved throughout the entire process. All of us at the Blade are forever grateful for his many contributions and he will be missed by so many in the community here.”

No cause of death has been revealed.
