(Tuesday, August 6, 2024) – After weeks of speculation, Vice President Kamala Harris has named Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her guy. Walz, viewed as a progressive democrat, will immediately hit the ground running with campaign stops in key battleground states beginning with Pennsylvania. A rally is set for 5pm today in Philadelphia.

Harris’ pick for her running mate came just hours after she officially became her party’s nominee for president after a five-day round of online balloting by Democratic National Convention delegates ended Monday night. The party said in a statement that 99% of delegates casting ballots had done so for Harris.

Harris, a graduate of Howard University, is the first woman of color to lead a major party ticket.
