LeBron James shared a Jay-Z quote on Instagram, causing fans to think he might quit basketball. Rumors of LeBron James retiring started after the Lakers’ 4-0 playoff loss to the Denver Nuggets.
LeBron answered questions about his future in basketball, saying, “We’ll see what happens going forward. I don’t know,” the Lakers star said during postgame interviews. “I’ve got a lot to think about, to be honest. Just for me personally going forward with the game of basketball.”
James has since taken to Instagram to fuel the rumors with a JAY-Z lyric, “I’m supposed to be #1 on everybody list. We’ll see what happens when I no longer exist.”
This isn’t the first time LeBron has turned to JAY-Z to express himself. After his Lakers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies and eliminated them from the NBA Playoffs last month (April 29), LeBron James referenced Jay-Z’s lyrics from his song “Trouble” from his comeback album Kingdom Come.
