A Montgomery County woman claimed the first $5 million top prize on the new “$5,000,000 CASH” scratch-off game at Maryland Lottery Headquarters.
The game quickly became popular after its release on Feb. 19, with two other high-tier prizes at $100,000 and $10,000 levels. According to Lottery officials, “after going on sale Feb. 19, the game jumped immediately into the (number one) spot on the Lottery’s Top 40 Scratch-offs list.
The winner, a veteran player, was surprised by the massive win and is considering starting a business with the jackpot. She plans to continue playing and hunting for more big jackpots in the future.
