It’s Medical Monday, and we’re talking about breas cancer and a troubling reality for Black women. African American women continue to face a higher risk of dying from the disease, even as advances in screening, treatment and research are saving lives. We’ll hear from a breast cancer survivor and a surgeon about what’s driving the disparity and what can be done to change the outcome. We will highlight a major effort underway here in the DMV to raise money for breast cancer treatment and research and how you can join in the mission.
