We’re talking about an issue that touches the health and well-being of mothers, babies and entire communities… breastfeeding. While you may have heard the phrase “breast milk is the best milk,” not all moms and families are heeding the message. Why are breastfeeding rates lower among Black women? Is it about choice or are there barriers involving healthcare, work, family support, and access to resources? We’re asking those questions and looking at what can be done to better support Black mothers and babies. August is National Breastfeeding Month.
