UPDATE: (July 7th, 5:15 pm) The teen was found safe and reunited with her family Friday.
ORIGINAL : (July 7th, 2:00 pm) According to NBC Washington, the family of Taylor Mathis-Johnson has been searching for her for days.
They say the 16-year-old was last seen taking out the trash around 8 pm on June 29th, where she would then go to get her hair done.
“It’s hard. I don’t know where to start,” said her mother, Brittany Mathis. “I tried every resource that I had. I called every friend. I called every number in the phone. I went to T-Mobile.com and pulled up bills.”
Taylor’s mother has been working closely with DC detectives. “Time is ticking. Taylor’s not here. She didn’t come back in,” her mother said. “I called the job. They said Taylor, you know, wasn’t there. I called everywhere. So, that was the last I heard, so I went searching like any other mother would do.”
“I always call her my star child because she always is calm, sweet, helpful,” her great-grandmother, Sandy Allen, said.
The Black and Missing Foundation paired with the DC police, describes Johnson as 5 feet 2 inches tall, wearing a pink hoodie, black yoga pants, and tan Yeezy slides.
