Southaven Police have identified Baltimore comedian Reginald “Reggie” Carroll as the victim of a fatal shooting Wednesday night in Memphis.
Officers responded to a call on Burton Lane and found Carroll suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, the 52-year-old comedian died from his injuries. Police confirmed that one man is in custody and has been charged with his murder.
Carroll, known as the “Knockout King of Comedy,” was on tour with Katt Williams at the time of his death.Carroll built his reputation not only through stand-up but also with viral sketches and his own comedy club, where he mentored younger comics.
Tributes have poured in across social media from fans and fellow comedians. Mo’Nique, who toured with Carroll, remembered him as her “brother in comedy,” sharing, “All of our times together were amazing.”
Carroll’s credits include Showtime at the Apollo, The Parkers, and his 2023 standup special Knockout Kings of Comedy. His sudden passing leaves a void in both the comedy world and the community he championed.
