PEOPLE reports that a man feels much better after having a live cockroach removed from his small intestine.
The cockroach was discovered when a 23-year-old man from New Delhi, India, went to get medical help for stomach pain and indigestion at Fortis Hospital.
“The patient was suffering from indigestion and bloating after eating,” said Dr. Shubham Vatsya, Senior Consultant, Gastroenterology. “During routine inspections, we incidentally spotted the live cockroach.”
Once the cause was found, the doctor immediately removed the three-centimeter cockroach from his stomach during an endoscopy.
The man was surprised to find out he’d eaten a cockroach. “Even we were surprised as to how the cockroach managed to stay intact,” said Vatsya.
