Stephen Colbert received a standing ovation after The Late Show with Stephen Colbert won the Emmy for Outstanding Talk Series, according to Rolling Stone.

In his acceptance speech, Colbert thanked CBS for the opportunity to be part of the late-night tradition and expressed deep gratitude to his crew of more than 200. “You are the pros, and I’m so proud to be one of you,” he said. Colbert also honored his late assistant and reflected on love, loss, and the state of the country.

The win comes as The Late Show approaches its planned end in May 2026, a decision some speculate may be tied to political pressures.

Hollywood has rallied behind Colbert, with fellow late-night host Jimmy Kimmel publicly endorsing him for the award.
