Suicide and the Black community. It is a very real issue. Long-gone are the days when we would hear the phrase, “Black people don’t do that”. According to The Suicide Prevention Resource Center, the suicide rates for African-Americans have seen a steady increase since 2011. This is National Suicide Prevention Week. We’re taking a closer look at this difficult but very important issue.
