We’ve all heard the stories and seen the movies about the Tuskegee Airmen. The heroic black aviators who flew the red tail p-47 and p-51 fighters over Europe during World War II. But little was known about the Black nurses stationed at on the base in Tuskegee, Alabama where those Black pilots trained. That is, until now. A new book, just published, chronicles the service and work by the Tuskegee army nurse corps during this critical time in American history.
