Prince George’s County’s Finest @ WHUR-FedEX Moms Who Serve Luncheon

The luncheon was filled with laughter, smiles, and poignant moments as attendees gathered to enjoy a sumptuous four-course meal. The atmosphere was vibrant, with each mother being acknowledged for her unique service and commitment to the community. Emmy-Award Winning NBC4 News Anchor Molette Green was the Mistress of Ceremony and delivered up a perfect mix of fun, information, entertainment, and heartfelt moments.

As part of the day’s festivities, guests were treated to a variety of gifts, including beautiful floral arrangements from Lee’s Flowers and Card Shop, $100 Giant Food gift cards, exclusive Macy’s gift baskets from Macy’s Downtown Metro Center, concert tickets and swag bags courtesy of FedEX and WHUR, making the day even more special for these deserving mothers.

A highlight of the luncheon was a powerful address by Dr. Denise McCain, Director of the Prince George’s County Family Justice Center. Dr. McCain spoke candidly about the critical issue of domestic violence in the county, urging all attendees to be vigilant and proactive in helping to reduce incidents within their communities. Her message resonated deeply, reminding everyone of the importance of support and awareness in combating domestic violence.

“We are honored to celebrate these incredible mothers who serve not only their families but also our community,” said WHUR General Manager Sean Plater. “Events like the ‘Moms Who Serve Luncheon’ allow us to recognize their sacrifices and commitment, while also addressing important issues that affect us all.”

“The 13th Annual Moms Who Serve Luncheon was a testament to the strength, resilience, and dedication of mothers across various professions, and a reminder of the collective responsibility we share in fostering a supportive community,” said Craig Robertson, Managing Director for FedEx Office.

The luncheon was made possible by the generous sponsorship of FedEx. Special thanks to Macy’s Downtown Metro Center, Lee’s Flowers and Card Shop, the Anacostia Art Gallery, Birchmere Music Hall, the Prince George’s County Family Justice Center, and Copper Canyon Grille at Woodmore Town Center.
