(Silver Spring, MD) — A Silver Spring mother is facing charges of leaving her children unattended in a hotel room filled with drug paraphernalia. Police arrested the woman after staff at the Best Western Hotel found three children inside a hotel room unattended. Police say the children, ages 2, 6 and 11 were found sleeping in the room with drug paraphernalia scattered around the room.
Officials say the children’s mother, identified as 36-year-old Mary Galvin, was found asleep in a car in the hotel’s parking lot along with a man. Galvin was arrested and charged with child neglect as well as drug possession. Police say the children are now in the care of the Montgomery County Child Protection Services.
