District Heights, Maryland (Thursday, August 1, 2019) – It’s often called the most important meal of the day. WHUR and Wells Fargo got in on the act this morning providing free breakfast to dozens of customers at the Chick-Fil-A at 5502 Silver Hill Road in District Heights, Maryland.
Unsuspecting customers at the fast food placed their orders this morning and surprisingly learned they were able to keep their money in their pockets. “Good morning. No need to pay this morning. Breakfast is on us. It’s ‘Pay It Forward Thursdays’ and WHUR and Wells Fargo are treating you to breakfast this morning,” WHUR News Anchor Taylor Thomas told customers at the drive-thru.

It was all part of “Pay It Forward Thursdays,” an initiative to help spark random acts of kindness across the Washington area. Each Thursday, WHUR and Wells Fargo team up to crisscross the region to surprise unsuspecting customers by picking up the tab at local restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, Metro stops, coffee shops, and salons.
“Pay It Forward Thursdays,” in partnership with Wells Fargo’s “Where We Live,” kicked off Thursday, July 25th at 4pm at Giant Food at 1535 Alabama Avenue in S.E., D.C. with WHUR and Wells Fargo hitting the grocery store to pay the grocery bill of unsuspecting customers. “
The two companies are hoping this small act of caring and sharing will become even more contagious around the DMV, helping to make the region just a little kinder this summer.
