(Washington, DC) — The former head of the Democratic National Committee is running for governor of Maryland. Former DNC Chairman Tom Perez released a video on Tuesday announcing his campaign. The five-minute video promotes Perez as a Maryland native who rose through the ranks to become Secretary of Labor during the Obama administration. Maryland’s current governor, Republican Larry Hogan, is popular in the Democratic state but can’t run again because of term limits.
