Billionaire entrepreneur Robert Smith and entertainment mogul Byron Allen made their bids for the Denver Broncos franchise.  

The Denver Broncos franchise is expected to be up for grabs this off season, the starting price is around $4 billion. If Smith or Allen acquire the team, one of these men will be the first Black NFL team owner in the sport’s history. 

According to Black Enterprise, Robert Smith is a 59 year-old billionaire from Denver with an estimated net worth of $6.7 billion – making him the richest Black man in the United States. He’s also known for paying off Morehouse’s Class of 2019 tuition. 

According to Afrotech,  Byron Allen is one of the wealthiest Black men in entertainment today. Allen is a comedian and producer from Detroit, Michigan. He’s also a businessman and the head of Entertainment Studios. With a net worth of $450 million, Allen has acquired the Weather Channel in 2018 for $300 million and Bayou City Broadcasting for $165 million. 

It’s also rumored that legendary rapper Jay-Z has also made a bid for the Denver Broncos.
