The 2022 Billboard Awards will air on May 15th, broadcasting on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. ET. 

Since Las Vegas lifted its mask mandate last week, the event will return to its original location in the MGM Grand Arena. Last year, the BBMAs were held in Los Angeles, California.  

The Billboard Music Awards has been a marker of great artistic achievement for the past 30 years. According to The Music Universe, the awards and nominations are based on  key fan interactions with music, including streaming, album and digital song sales, radio airplay, and touring, tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including MRC Data.

The nominations for awards haven’t been released yet. In 2021, the list of nominations was released in late April. The Weeknd led with 16 nominations and left with 10 awards. Drake received the Artist of the Decade Award.
