Some GOP Members to Skip SOTU Speech

Republicans Roiled By Coronavirus Test Requirement For SOTU

(Washington, DC) — A growing number of Republicans plan to skip President Biden’s State of the Union address tonight. They don’t believe a COVID test should be required to enter the House chamber. Senator Marco Rubio said he did not have the time to take a COVID test and added he only gets tested if he’s sick. Texas Congressman Chip Roy said in a statement he refuses to be part of what he called “political theater” and will not attend. Republican House members Mary Miller, Bob Good, Matt Rosendale and Andrew Clyde have also announced they will skip Biden’s speech.
