Legendary singer Toni Braxton will return to Lifetime to star as ‘Hollis’ in the two-part anthology series, ‘Fallen Angels Murder Club: Friends To Die For.’
The film, based on the ‘Hollis Morgan’ mystery book series by author R. Franklin James, is directed by Rhonda Baraka and will star Braxton as Hollis Morgan, “an ex-con turned amateur sleuth who sets out to investigate a series of murders at her book club in The Fallen Angels Book Club,” reports Deadline.
This is a return for Braxton as she has starred in 2016’s ‘Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart’ and 2018’s ‘Faith Under Fire: The Antoinette Tuff Story’ and ‘Every Day is Christmas.’ Braxton also made her movie debut with Lifetime with the 2013 movie, ‘Twist of Faith.’
Braxton’s exciting movie premiere is on the heels of a devastating loss. On March 12, Traci Braxton‘s family confirmed that passed away at 50 years old after a strenuous battle with esophageal cancer.
As reported by Vibe, when speaking about her new role, ‘Unbreak My Heart’ singer Toni Braxton shared how Traci’s memory will live on within through the series.
“When I look at this project, I think of her with a smile on my face,” Toni shared. “We’re going to dedicate this film—Lifetime and I—to my sister Traci. So, she’ll always be here with us no matter what.”
‘Fallen Angels Murder Club: Friends to Die For’ premieres Saturday, April 2nd at 8/7c.
