Fairfax County Schools has a new Superintendent. Dr. Michelle Reid was selected by the school board Thursday night. Earlier in the day, some Fairfax public schools students walked out of classes, protesting their lack of involvement in the selection of the superintendent. Reid comes from leading a Washington State school district of 22-thousand students. Fairfax’s chapter of the NAACP says it is concerned that Reid’s experience may not prepare her to lead Fairfax County’s diverse school district of 180-thousand students. Reid will replace Scott Brabrand, whose last day is June 30.
