MD Dems Race too close to call

The counting of mail-in ballots cannot begin until Thursday morning.

Maryland’s primary election is over and we have a clearer picture of who will be running for governor this fall. Dan Cox, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump is the apparent winner over Kelly Shulz who was backed by outgoing Governor Larry Hogan. In the Democratic race, Wes Moore leads Peter Franchot and Tom Perez. State elections officials have until July 29th to certify results, but the counting of mail-in ballots cannot begin until Thursday morning. The primary winner will move on to the general election in November.
