Tory Lanez has been found guilty of the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion; legal name Megan Pete, which left her injured with bullet fragments in her feet.

Seven women and five men made up the jury that deliberated for one day, convicting the 30-year-old Canadian rapper known as Tory Lanez, with the legal name of Daystar Peterson.

He was convicted of :

• Possession of an assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
• Having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
• Discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

As the verdict was read, Lanez was described as showing no physical reaction and being handcuffed in the courtroom. Once a judge rules on the counts, these charges could lead to up to 22 years in prison.

Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson, began shouting after the jury was dismissed, “This wicked system stands judged before God almighty!” He shouted, as deputies closed in on him. He continued and pointed to the two prosecutors in the case and yelled “You two are evil, wicked people. You know exactly what you did.”
