(Annapolis, MD) — Governor Wes Moore is making a pitch for his proposal to ease the tax burden on veterans in Maryland. Moore, who is an Army veteran, testified on behalf of his “Keep Our Heroes Home Act” before a House of Delegates’ committee. The bill would exempt the first 25-thousand-dollars in veteran retirement income this year and 40-thousand next year, up from the current 15-thousand. By contrast, former Governor Larry Hogan did not testify in favor of any of his bills during his eight years in office but his three predecessors did.
