(Fairfax, VA) — A string of crimes involving ride-share drivers and vehicles has prompted Fairfax County authorities to have customers use caution before setting out. Three separate incidents have taken place this year in the county; a Bethesda, Maryland Uber driver is accused of sexually assaulting two women, while a DC Lyft driver is also accused of sexually abusing a customer in Georgetown. Riders are urged to verify the vehicle and driver, share trip details, always sit in a seat behind the driver, be aware of the route and call 9-1-1 if they feel unsafe for any reason.
