Popular ride sharing app, Lyft, announced yesterday that they would be launching the Job Access Program to help provide transportation to interviews for the unemployed.

Lyft plans to implement the Job Access Program across 35 markets in the US and Canada. The goal of this program is to minimize transpiration fees that often prevent the unemployed from being able to obtain and keep consistent employment.

In a statement about the Job Access Program, Lyft explained “For the unemployed, reliable transportation to a job interview or to the first few weeks of work can mean the difference between successful, long-term employment and lost opportunities.

This initiative has generated a lot of positive support for Lyft via social media.

Lyft is asking riders to support the Job Access Program by donating to other Lyft programs such as Round Up & Donate. You can find more information about how to support or use the Job Access Program on the Lyft website.
