Another one bites the dust! It seems President Trump can’t play any music at his rallies without ruffling feathers. Grammy Award-winning singer, Rihanna is the latest artist to send Trump a cease and desist order for playing her song “Don’t Stop The Music” at a rally in Chattanooga.
Rihanna found out her music was being played when a Washington Post reporter, Philip Rucker, tweeted about it. Rihanna responded saying, “Not for much longer… me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies, so thanks for the heads up philip!”

Rihanna joins a list of many other artists that have been vocal about their disdain with President Trump playing their music at rallies. WHUR previously reported on Pharell’s team sending the President a cease and desist order for playing his song ‘Happy’ at rallies. We also covered the Prince Estate demanding Purple Rain stop being played at Trump’s rallies. At this rate President Donald Trump wont have any music to play at his rallies pretty soon.
Rihanna has been very vocal politically lately. As WHUR previously reported, she turned down an offer to perform at the Superbowl Halftime show to show support and solidarity to Colin Kapernick.
Rihanna has also been using her social media to encourage others to be politically active and vote. She recently endorsed Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum in an Instagram post.
Today Rihanna shared an Instagram post that showed which states have same day voter registration and said,
It’s ELECTION DAY America!!! The most important day for the rest of your lives…all you have is right now! TODAY!! If you’re tired of complaining about the state of the country and government, get up and do something about it!!! #VOTE … simple!!! You have no excuse, and If you live in any of these states it’s not too late to register today!! C’mon man, LETS GO!!!!!”
