President Trump is calling Iranian General Qassem Soleimani one of the world’s leading terrorists. Speaking at his Florida resort, Trump defended the U.S. airstrike that killed the top Iranian military leader in Iraq. He said Soleimani’s “rein of terror is over.” He argued that the Iranian general had a “sick passion” for killing innocent people. Trump said the airstrike was ordered to stop a war, not start a war. Trump also said he is ready to take “whatever action is necessary,” if Iran retaliates. About 35-hundred more U.S. troops are on their way to the Middle East after Iran’s president promised harsh revenge for the killing of its top general. Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani called the airstrike that left Qassem Soleimani dead a “cowardly act and another sign of America’s frustration and helplessness in the region.”
