Renowned Gospel legend Lashun Pace, of the Anointed Pace Sisters, has passed away on Monday at 60 years old.

The singer’s sister, Lydia Pace, told Shiba Russell of 11Alive Atlanta News that Pace was on dialysis for five years waiting for a kidney and died of organ failure Monday morning.

“The Atlanta native was born in Atlanta’s Poole Creek community. The Grammy-nominated group, the Anointed Pace Sisters, made up of nine sisters first shared their family melody in church and local talent shows before rising to gospel stardom,” reports 11Alive.

Pace best known songs are “I Know I’ve Been Changed” and “There’s A Leak In This Old Building. Her music spanned generations as a snippet of “Act Like You Know” was recently revived as a viral TikTok trend.

In total, the legendary vocalist released eight studio albums and had a brief stint as an actress. Most notably, Pace co-starred in Steve Martin’s 1992 film, Leap Of Faith, as the Angel of Mercy. In 2003, she wrote her memoir, For My Good But For His Glory and was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame in 2007. (via Vibe)

Pace’s sister has posted a series of Instagram photos with scriptures and gratitude for Shiba Russell’s coverage of her sister’s passing.

“And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:7,” Pace wrote under a photo of a beautiful flower on Monday.

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. – Isaiah 40:29
Thank you, @shibarussell,” writes Pace regarding Russell’s report.
