Megan Thee Stallion Cancels Houston Show ‘Out Of Respect’ For Astroworld Victims

Megan Thee Stallion cancels her Houston show because “Houston is still healing.”

Houston, Texas is left mourning the tragedies that occurred one month ago at the Astroworld Festival, ten lives were lost. Megan Thee Stallion has decided to cancel her upcoming concert there in the wake of these tragedies.

The Houston native said “out of respect for the lives lost in Houston earlier this month, I have decided to cancel my show at 713 Music Hall on Dec 3rd.”


According to Billboard, last month the rapper was extremely excited to perform at the grand opening of 713 Music Hall. “It’s always special to come back home and perform in front of my OG hotties,I can’t wait to take the stage and celebrate the grand opening of 713 Music Hall — it’s going to be unforgettable!”

This concert was also intended to be a celebratory event for Megan, she will be receiving her bachelor’s degree in health administration from Texas Southern University on Dec. 11th.

Despite her excitement, she felt as though her hometown was healing and needed to grieve.

She went on to say, “Houston is still healing, and it’s important that our community be given the appropriate time to grieve. My heart goes out to all the families that are suffering during this difficult time,” Variety reported.
