Michael Jackson Once Invited Shaq to Be His Guest Rapper for Hit Song

In honor of Throwback Thursday, let’s discuss the time Michael Jackson invited Shaq to rap on his song, “2 Bad” from Jackson’s HIStory album.  By the time Shaq joined Jackson he had proved himself as a rapper and even had signed a recording contract with Interscope Records, home to artists Dr. Dre, Eminem, and 50 Cent.  Shaq rapped under the name “Shaq Fu” and released his first album, Shaq Diesel in 1993. The album sold over a million copies. He followed it in 1994 with “Shaq Fu: The Return.” In 1996 Shaq released “You Can’t Stop The Reign,” featuring JAY-Z and Notorious B.I.G. His fourth album, “Respect” was released in 1998.

Do you think Shaq should come out of retirement? Who should he rap with?
