Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes, and Amy Schumer To Host Oscars

The hosts for the Oscars are officially announced. Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall, and Amy Schumer will be the first female trio to host the Oscars in the Academy Awards’ history. According to CNN, the last trio to host was Chevy Chase, Goldie Hawn, and Paul Hogan in 1987.

Hall has hosted The 2019 BET Awards and Schumer has hosted the 2015 MTV Awards. Sykes has hosted her own talk show ‘The Wanda Sykes Show’ from 2009 to 2010 and the 2010 GLAAD Media Awards.


Sykes and Hall are among the four Black entertainers who have hosted the Oscars, ranging from Sammy Davis Jr. (1972, 1975), Richard Pryor (1977, 1983), Whoopi Goldberg (four times between 1994 and 2002), and Chris Rock (2005 and 2016). After March 27th, the four will become six.

Tune into the 94th Academy Awards on March 27th at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
