It’s a hard knock life for some people, but this winter that changes. DMV native Taraji P. Henson is set to star in NBC’s holiday production of Annie.

The Academy Award nominated actor will play Miss Hanigan, the orphanage owner who dislikes kids and seems to have it out for Annie. While the search for the star orphan is still going, you can expect Henson to give an amazing show.

“Carol Burnett, who brought Miss Hannigan to life in the classic 1982 movie, is someone I have studied and idolized as far back as I can remember,” Henson said. “So when the opportunity came to me to join NBC and this incredible group of producers, I jumped! Carol, I hope to make you proud!” the Variety Reported.

Henson is a Howard University alumni and an award winning actress. Some of her awards include a Golden Globe, SAG Award, Critic’s Choice Award, as well as being a best selling author and on TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People In the World.
