BET Awards 2024: Kamala Harris References Kendrick Lamar Diss Track , Blue Ivy Is The Youngest To Be Awarded, & Victoria Monét Pays Tribute To Michael Jackson

The Culture’s Biggest Night was filled with excitement

Vice President Kamala Harris referenced Kendrick Lamar’s diss track, “Not Like Us,” against Drake during a video aired at the BET Awards, emphasizing the importance of voting and the threats facing voters in the upcoming election. 

Harris highlighted the attacks on fundamental freedoms and urged viewers to register to vote. 

The awards show featured performances and discussions on the significance of voting, with rapper Killer Mike emphasizing the importance of local elections. 


Blue Ivy, after Blue took home the YoungStars award from BET and mother Beyoncé shared a loving message to her daughter.

Beyonce said through the Parkwood IG account, “Congratulations to Blue Ivy Carter on winning the 2024 BET Youngstars Award!”

Blue Ivy is known to be the youngest recipient of a BET Award, as she won an award for “Brown Skin Girl.”

Victoria Monét dazzled on The Culture’s Biggest Night, paying tribute to Michael Jackson.

Monét sang “On My Mama” and “Alright” at the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday (June 30). Beginning her performance with an oversized jacket and jeans, performing “On My Mama.”

Monét changed into a white suit jacket and leggings inspired by Michael Jackson for her second smash, “Alright.” Producer/DJ/songwriter Kaytranada performed with her.

Monét ended her performance with a third clothing change after honoring Jackson. The artist stunned in a one-piece with water dripping over her.

The performance was Monét’s debut at the BET Awards. Monét won the Best Video of the Year award and the BET HER Award.
