At the peak of pandemic, Bowser said it is expected that the District will need 3,000 acute-care beds and about 2,800 ICU beds. There are currently about 25-hundred total beds in the city’s seven major hospitals. Bowser said a peak in cases and hospitalizations is expected “somewhere around the end of June and beginning of July.”
