You know the song, you know the lyrics, or at least your children do. 25 years ago, the Disney animated series “The Proud Family” made a huge splash for children’s television. It was funny, energetic, thought-provoking, never inappropriate and always hit the mark when it came to black family issues. Now… 25 years later, what have we learned from the series and why is today’s current media environment struggling to get the image of black children right?
