CNN Suspends Chris Cuomo Indefinitely

Chris Cuomo suspended by CNN for help he gave to his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo

(Tuesday, November 30, 2021) – Chris Cuomo has been sidelined  by CNN.  The Cable News Network Tuesday suspended its biggest star following new details released about his role in helping his brother Andrew Cuomo, as the now former New York Governor faced allegations of sexual harassment.

A statement released by CNN says that documents released as part of the investigation raise serious questions.  “When Chris admitted to us that he had offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly.  But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second.  However, these documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew.  As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation,” the statement said.

Documents released recently from transcripts from the New York Attorney General’s office revealed the CNN news anchor engaged in text message with the governor’s aides, showing he drafted statements for his brother to issue, demanded a larger role in strategy, and even contacted other journalists to find out about potential stories about his brothers.  Andrew Cuomo resigned in the face of the allegations

It is not clear how long Chris Cuomo will be suspended.
