We’re sitting down with Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando. Earlier this month, the Montgomery County Board of Elections certified him as the Democratic nominee for county executive. He must still face Republican nominee Esther Wells in November’s general election. We should note that the heavily democratic county has not elected a Republican as county executive since James Gleason in 1970. Barring any political seismic shift in the county electorate, he will likely be the next Montgomery County Executive.
