Kamala Harris Gets Vaccine as Experts Say Pandemic Worsens

Vice President-Elect gets first coronavirus vaccine, joining a host of other top officials urging Americans to get onboard

(Tuesday, December 29, 2020) – Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris joined a list of top officials around the country who are showing their confidence in the coronavirus vaccine.  Harris and her husband Douglass Emhoff received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine today at United Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Harris said the vaccine is about saving lives.  “I trust the science and it is the scientists who created and approved this vaccine.”  Just last week, President-Elect Joe Biden and his wife Dr. Joe Biden publicly received their first dose of the vaccine.

Meantime, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert says the surge in coronavirus cases is out of control and he warns the situation will only get worse as infectious increase in the weeks after the Christmas holiday travel.
