(Temple Hills, MD) — A man is dead after being shot by a police officer in Temple Hills last night. Officers responded to a call in the Silver Hill area around 8 p.m. and discovered a man reportedly hit several vehicles before fleeing the scene. He was located near St. Barnabas Road near Winston Street in Temple Hills and handcuffed after police suspected he was under the influence of PCP. While sitting in the police cruiser, a struggle ensued and the man was shot multiple times by the officer’s service weapon. The man was taken to the hospital where he died. Police have not released his identity pending a notification to his family. The officer has been placed on administrative leave and will be identified to the public later today.
