(Rockville, MD) — A week after its mask mandate ended, Montgomery County is poised to reinstate the restriction. Montgomery County’s acting health officer, Doctor James Bridgers says the move comes as the county has returned to the substantial transmission category of COVID guidelines. Under consideration by the county is a return to mandatory indoor mask wearing starting Wednesday. Doctor Bridgers say the Board of Health may mandate the use of masks unless the board amends the current regulation. Currently the board requires mandatory mask wearing if the county’s rate of transmission increases to the substantial level at any time during or after a seven-day period.
