Metro Open Late With Free Rides On NYE

(Washington, DC) — Metro is ready to ring in the New Year with free rides. Not only will bus and trains continue running through 2 a.m. January 1st, but those who hop on after 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve won’t have to pay. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser says it’s a safe and free way for people to get to and from all the events happening across the city. Metro’s manager also says it’s the perfect option to avoid drinking and driving. Regular fares return after 4 a.m.
