Labor day will mark three weeks since the federal police takeover in DC. Since then, there have been more than 1200 arrests. While crime has been reduced signifcantly since the surge… the presence of federal police and National Guard has altered communities across the city… especially east of the river. It’s also not known if Congress will approve an extension of the federal police surge beyond 30 days, if President Trump requests it. Next wednesday, faith leaders and community activists plan a resistance event called “Pray for the District”.
