Secretary of Defense Has Prostate Cancer

(Arlington, VA) — The Pentagon says Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was admitted to the ICU with complications from a treatment for prostate cancer. Austin was diagnosed with prostate cancer in December and underwent a minimally invasive procedure to treat and cure it. Days later he was admitted to Walter Reed on January 1st with complications from the procedure, including nausea and severe abdominal pain. Officials said he’s still in the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. This comes as Austin is facing criticism as his hospitalization was not reported to top Defense officials or the White House until days later.
