Have you ever turned on the TV and stumbled across CNBC or Bloomberg Business News and wondered, what the heck are they talking about? If you don’t know, at least two things are clear. They’re talking about money and the people who are talking about money have a lot of it. Overall, more people than ever are getting into investing, beyond their retirement accounts. But when it comes to the Black community… we’re still behind. Approximately 40% of Black American households own stock, according to the federal reserve survey of consumer finances. That’s up 33% since 2016. But 65% of white households own stock for investment purposes. We’re going to hold a little investment 101 class for those who are still on the fence about investing and want to know more.
