One day before President Lyndon Johnson, signed the historic voting rights act, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., held a press conference at The White House on August 5th, 1965. Ironically… on the holiday celebrating his birth.. the fight to strengthen voting rights likely will fizzle during a planned senate vote tomorrow.
