Voting Rights 2022 and MLK Day

The 1965 Voting Rights Act and why the political clock appears to be turning back in 2022.

One day before President Lyndon Johnson, signed the historic voting rights act, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., held a press conference at The White House on August 5th, 1965. Ironically… on the holiday celebrating his birth.. the fight to strengthen voting rights likely will fizzle  during a planned senate vote tomorrow.

We look a the role Dr. King played in getting the 1965 voting rights act passed and why the political clock appears to be turning back.
