New infections in 13-to-24-year-olds dropped by a third.

(Atlanta, GA) — The U.S. is seeing fewer HIV infections. The CDC reported Tuesday that 2021 saw just over 32-thousand new HIV infections. That was a 12-percent drop from 2017. New infections in 13-to-24-year-olds dropped by a third. The CDC noted younger people between the ages of 16 and 24 have taken more precautions to prevent infections helped drive the decrease.
