Helicopter Parents and New Empty Nesters

How are parents coping with the absence of their children after they leave to attend college?

It’s a rite of passage for many young people.  Shipping off the hallowed halls of colleges and universities around the country.  Parents… getting emotional as they say goodbye.  But sometimes those goodbyes are short-lived.  Some parents are still hovering… like helicopters.
hence the term helicopter parents.  Why is it so hard to let go?   We talk about helicopter parents and the new empty nesters as kids of every age ship out.
