D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is moving to clamp down on the violence that has been gripping the city in recent months. City officials today rolled out a plan to target specific areas with wrap around services and enforcement during the summer months.

The report also shows a jump in the number of assaults with a gun in the city. So far this year there have been 655 cases compared to 579 this time last year.

At 11:30 this morning DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC Police Chief Peter Newsham will hold a press conference to update the public about Brown’s case.
